چکیده

This paper describes the simulation setup applied in an introductory study in connection with implementation of subsea processing equipment at an already operating gas and oil field. The primary aim of the subsea processing equipment is to increase the oil recovery, but it is also considered as an important technological step forward. A subsea separation and boosting station is planned installed. Several challenges need to be addressed before the implementation process, and simulations have therefore been performed to see how different types of control strategies can be introduced to overcome these challenges. The simulation model includes all the pipes and equipment from the wells to the topside first stage separators. The flow in the pipelines is modeled with the dynamic multiphase flow simulator OLGA 2000, whereas most of the processing equipment is modeled in Simulink. The focus of the paper is to demonstrate different ways of combining OLGA 2000 and Simulink, and how to divide the overall process model into sub-models in order to study local phenomena.

Control Solutions for Subsea Processing and Multiphase Transport

To increase the oil production for the Tordis subsea oilfield located at the Norwegian Continental Shelf, a subsea separation and boosting station will be installed. Most of the water will be injected into a subsea reservoir instead of being transported up to the platform. Several challenges conserning process control need to be addressed before the implementation process, and dynamic simulatio...

Dynamic Bayesian networks based performance evaluation of subsea blowout preventers in presence of imperfect repair

This paper presents a quantitative reliability and availability evaluation method for subsea blowout preventer (BOP) system by translating fault tree (FT) into dynamic Bayesian networks (DBN) directly, taking account of imperfect repair. The FTs of series system and parallel system are translated into Bayesian networks, and extended to DBN subsequently. The multi-state degraded system is used t...

Subsea Free Span Pipeline Damage Detection Based on Wavelet Transform under Environmental Load

During their service life, marine pipelines continually accumulate damage as a result of the action of various environmental forces. Clearly, the development of robust techniques for early damage detection is very important to avoid the possible occurrence of a disastrous structural failure. Most of vibration-based damage detection methods require the modal properties that are obtained from mea...

Mixed Qualitative/Quantitative Dynamic Simulation of Processing Systems

In this article the methodology proposed by Li and Wang for mixed qualitative and quantitative modeling and simulation of temporal behavior of processing unit is reexamined and extended to more complex case. The main issue of their approach considers the multivariate statistics of principal component analysis (PCA), along with clustered fuzzy digraphs and reasoning. The PCA and fuz...
